They incorporated two important major elements found in both nature and artistic conception —diversity and creativity. All pieces shown at the exhibition were considered at length and in depth by the artists. They wish to convey their concerns for both the animals and the natural environment. Animals — Art and Design Exhibition invited 23 artists and designers from Taiwan and around the world to take part. They incorporated two important major elements found in both nature and artistic conception — diversity and creativity. In order to display these animals in their natural living habitat, Chimei Museum placed five of the largest pieces of artworks in areas within the compound to highlight the animals in the park. The indoor exhibition area is divided into four major sections — “Insects, Fishes, Birds, and Mammals” to present the variety of living beings that crawl, swim, fly, and walk on land. Gathering these artworks in the museum, it is as if an animal carnival is on. It is our hope that the imagination of the artists and designers will bring humor and creativity into issues on animal preservation, and make the discussion lively and interesting to the public. So let’s put the spotlight on the animals, get ready, and start the dance !
