To coincide with the 250th anniversary of Beethoven
’s birth, CHIMEI Museum, based on the purpose of promoting art and culture and collecting famous violins, provides 21 violins made by master makers, including Amati, Stradivari, and Guadagnini to musicians. We invite music expert David Lu to launch Beethoven Memorial Music Festival to present renowned violins with prominent musicians and pay tribute to the great maestro Beethoven.
The music festival consists of one lecture and four concerts. CHIMEI Museum has invited well-known domestic musicians and National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra to join the celebration and perform different instrument arrangements and musical forms with informative lectures. This is a rare chance for the audience to enjoy the historically rich and vital sound of the famous violin, viola, and cello. This is also an excellent chance for the audience to pay homage to the giant in the world of classical music. We hope that audience can get a deeper grasp of the musical world of Beethoven and accumulate their own understanding of the great composer!

Elegance Dance with Strings - Wei Ching-yi Solo Violin Concert
Beethoven composed 10 violin sonatas throughout his lifetime. Although most of his works were published in the early stage of his career, he made outstanding contributions to the development of the form of violin sonatas. In this highly anticipated concert, violinist Wei Ching-yi will perform with the famous violin made by Nicolò Amati from the Chimei Collection and accompanied by pianist Lu Yi-chih.

The Emergence of Giant - Shui Lan and Beethoven
Since the completion of Symphony No. 1 at the age of 30, Beethoven's creativity has entered a whole new stage. The spiritual torch of classicalism received from Haydn shines in Beethoven's first two symphonies and heralds his romanticism turn.
In this concert, the conductor Shui Lan will lead the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra to bring us Beethoven's Symphony No. 1 and No. 2. Sixteen famous instruments from Chimei Collection will be played, including the Guadagnini Quartet. We assure the audience of a fantastic musical feast.

Battle of Strings-Infinite String Quartet
Beethoven's 16 string quartets are often regarded as the key to directly explore his inner world. These works date from the early to late stages, which can be an essential guide to understand Beethoven's life-long creative trajectory.
This time, the well-known Infinite String Quartet will perform three large-scale String Quartets Rasumovsky in a row, a pioneering arrangement in the domestic music scene. This program also includes four precious instruments from CHIMEI Collection – two violins made by Antonio Stradivari (c. 1644-1737), and a viola and cello made by Andrea Amati (c. 1505-1577) works.

Reminder
1.【COVID-19 Prevention Measures】
◆ The audience are expected to wear masks upon entering the concert hall and will have their body temperature taken. Any guest with a forehead temperature exceeding 37.5 degrees will be refused admission. We apologize for any inconvenience.

2. One-person-one-ticket. Non-family shows are recommended for children over 7 years old.
3. Ticket refunds should not be made any later than 10 days before the performance, and a 10% handling fee of the ticket price will be charged. We do not give refunds after the due date.
4. You may enter 30 minutes before the performance begins. Please refrain from entering or leaving at will during the performance. Those who are late should follow the guidance of the staff before entering the hall.
5. Please dress appropriately and do not wear undershirts, tank tops or slippers.

7. After the performance begins, please remain silent and refrain from walking around so as to not disturb the performance.
