Origami Universe II : Pop-Up Wonders

This exhibition is a sequel to our temporary exhibition, Origami Universe : an exhibition of art and innovation through folding, back in 2016. On the foundation of “folding,” the artists in this exhibition have incorporated other origami techniques into their works, such as “cutting, gluing, pressing, turning, and pulling,” to demonstrate how 2D paper can spring into 3D works with different styles, and creative ideas. This exhibition will be a wonderful visual feast of 2D paper popping into 3D excitements for viewers to explore the possibilities of both science and art in different aspects, ranging from part of the work to the entire work, static state to dynamic movement, and forms to functions.

From this lecture you will realize：

We especially invited the renowned illustrator and book author Shu-Fen Zheng to reveal her tips on making pop-up books. She will lead the class to create books that dedicated to you. During the lecture, she will share with the class of her creative experiences and lead the class using Paralle Folds, Angle Folds, and Valley Folds to create your personal book. Have fun while learning!

Lecturer

Illustrator and Author Shu-Fen Zheng

Alumni of Chinese Culture University, very thin, cannot go outside if the wind gets too strong. Likes Taiwanese opera, walking and practicing qigong. Currently engaged in picture book illustration creation and children's art and picture book teaching.
